Ayurvedic approach to Yoga -
Yoga includes Asanas or postures, Pranayama, meditation and diets. Where Ayurveda steps in or overlaps with yoga is with respect to diets. The Vedic texts have detailed an ayurvedic diet and a yogic diet.
An Ayurvedic diet promotes what is commonly known as a balanced diet. The food is normally cooked hot food, and also mainly vegetarian one. A yogic diet is similar, but advocates a ‘light and pure’ diet. This means that food must be simple, can be cooked or raw, easy to digest and vegetarian. Yoga asanas or Yoga postures for beginners are demonstrated in this DVD.
